1. Product Overview
In a 3-35kV power grid with a neutral point not effectively grounded, apart from lightning overvoltage, overvoltages caused by single-phase intermittent arc grounding and resonance occur frequently, with higher amplitudes and longer durations, causing cumulative damage to the internal insulation of electrical equipment, leading to ground breakdown at weak points in the external insulation or phase-to-phase flashovers, triggering short circuit accidents and causing gapless zinc oxide surge arresters to explode.
Currently, the main measure to limit arc grounding overvoltage is still to ground the neutral point of the power grid through an arc suppression coil. However, the arc suppression coil cannot limit intermittent arc grounding overvoltage, and due to the presence of the arc suppression coil, the reignition of the arc may only occur at the moment of voltage recovery, resulting in even higher arc grounding overvoltage. The arc suppression coil cannot compensate for the high-frequency components and active components in the grounding current, and high-frequency intermittent arc grounding faults cannot be eliminated. When the active component exceeds a certain value, the grounding arc at the fault point also cannot extinguish itself. Practical operating experience has also proven that in a 3-35KV power grid grounded through an arc suppression coil, accidents caused by arc grounding and resonance occur from time to time.
2. Product Features
1) It can limit various types of overvoltage to a lower level, greatly reducing insulation accidents caused by overvoltage.
2) Its mechanism of arc suppression and overvoltage limitation is independent of the magnitude of the power grid's capacitive current, thus its protective performance is not affected by changes in the power grid's operating mode or expansion.
3) Systems that originally required the installation of arc suppression coils according to design specifications can no longer be installed; moreover, its function of limiting arc grounding overvoltage is better and more complete than that of installing arc suppression coils.
4) It greatly reduces the probability of metal oxide surge arresters (MOA) exploding in such power grids.
5) The system no longer needs to be equipped with dedicated de-harmonic devices, and its effect is better.
6) The entire device, together with the PT, forms a high-voltage switch cabinet, with a simple structure, small size, convenient installation and debugging, and a wide range of applications.
